Keen to join the association? Please read the below information carefully and save it for future reference to get the most benefit from your membership of the association.
How to apply for membership
You will need to:
- Complete the membership application form in full and scan it.
- Complete and save the vehicle spreadsheet in Excel format. All your vehicles, including sub-contractors, that operate in the Port of Cape Town must be included.
- Members are required to uphold the Code of Conduct. Please read, sign and scan it.
- Scan copies of the current license documents for your trucks and those of your sub-conractors. There must be a direct link between the ownership details on the license document and the member, either the member’s name or the company name.
- Submit all the above together under cover of one email to admin@harbourcarriers.org.za
Once received, your application will be forwarded to the committee for vetting and approval. This may take a few days depending on their availability. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Members’ Obligations:
- The association’s financial year runs from March to February. Members are required to submit their annual compliance documents (updated spreadsheet, current license documents and updated membership form) annually before the end of February each year.
Compliance and subs that remain outstanding after 30th April will result in suspension of membership, including the privilege of operating under CTHCA, until compliance and payment is received. Members who repeat the late submission /non-payment in consecutive years may not be granted membership again.
- Members may not pass on any costs of membership to their sub-contractors, i.e. annual subscription or admin fees
- It is expected that the Code of Conduct is upheld by all members
- It is very important that the association maintains good communication with its members. Members who remove themselves from the mailing list will not be permitted to renew their membership.
